Interns in the Carolinas Option will be placed in established rotation sites located either in North or South Carolina. Faculty will make every effort for each intern to have all of their rotations scheduled within a one hour drive of the city in which they are placed. Geographic areas that are possibilities for placement include the Asheville, Hickory, Winston-Salem and Charlotte areas in NC and the coastal region of North and South Carolina. Other cities may be added as rotation sites are secured. Intern preference for geographic location will be considered although not guaranteed. Applicants may indicate location preference(s) in their personal statement.
All dietetic interns will complete a clinical (560 hours), community (400 hours), and administrative (240 hours) rotation, as well as a two-week (80 hours) enrichment rotation of the Intern's choice.

Community Rotation includes experience in public health, WIC, and childhood/adolescent nutrition.

Enrichment Opportunities are the student's choice. Potential enrichment experience includes corporate wellness, sports nutrition, nutrition consulting, additional nutrition support experience, or experience in a community nutrition organization such as a food bank or farm-to-school program.
